Service Trainer & Training Developer (Portables)

Summary of the position:
To conduct and develop technical service training materials and classes on Sullair rotary screw diesel-driven portable air compressors for customers, distributors and employees. Work with subject matter experts to develop entry and advanced level content for online and in-person delivery. Position reports directly to the Training Manager. Ideal candidates are based in Michigan City, IN or Charlotte, NC with up to 60% travel to conduct training courses in the field. Remote candidates considered.
Duties and responsibilities:
Conduct internal and external factory training classes with a primary focus on portable oil-flooded and oil-free rotary screw air compressors
Travel to field-based training locations throughout North America as necessary to support demand
Follow standard work for pre- and post-course preparation (submit billing, enter test scores and act as administrator on a Learning Management System, order breakfast, lunch, training materials, giveaways, etc.)
Deliver training content with student safety best practices and procedures in mind
Develop and continuously refine in-person and online training content
Work with engineering, service, product management, etc. to stay informed of latest product developments and applications
Automate business processes and reporting metrics
Effectively manage training expenses and reports
Deliver regular status updates on all active projects to Sullair management
Work on a team to manage logistics and scheduling of factory and on-site training sessions.
Handle customer training inquiries via department phone and email queues
Education:
- Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree a plus
- Technical Trade School a plus
Professional experience:
5+ years technical/mechanical training experience required
Demonstrated success in delivering effective training content
Experience with industrial product manufacturing and engineering processes
Experience in LMS design & management a plus
A strong understanding of adult learning theory
Strong verbal and written communication skills required; must be able to engage and communicate effectively with students and within all levels of the organization
Strong grasp of MS Office suite required – advanced power point animations is a plus
Strong graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop, In-design & Premier Pro a plus
Experience with Articulate and/or Adobe Captivate is a plus
Ability to read and understand schematics is a must
Must demonstrate professionalism representing the Sullair brand, as much of the role is customer-facing
Ability to work both independently and on a team
3D design and animation experience with Maya, Blender, etc. a huge plus
